Range
The full set of hands a player could have in a given situation, rather than one specific hand.
A range is every hand a player could hold in a spot, weighted by how likely each is. Strong players stop guessing a single hand and instead think about the whole range: "what does their betting represent, and how much of that range beats me?"
Playing well means putting opponents on accurate ranges and then choosing the action that performs best against the entire range, not just the one hand you fear or hope they have.
